The Potting Shed invites you on a journey through the rich history of European cheese. Across three evenings, explore centuries of tradition, taste and storytelling - served alongside special menus, wines and, of course, cheeses from our friend and celebrated expert Eric Charriaux. Whether you’re a cheese connoisseur or a curious foodie, this is a table you’ll want a seat at.

10th June - CHeese through the AGes
Travel back in time as we explore 7,000 years of cheesemaking. From Neolithic curds to Roman Pecorino and beyond. Discover how medieval monks shaped European dairy culture and how cheeses like Roquefort and Brie de Meaux survived revolutions and rewrote culinary history. You’ll also enjoy a live demonstration on making curds.
Look forward to:
- Sharing starters: Roman devilled eggs, Lucanian sausages, Pecorino and artichokes
- Main: Hog roast with ancient sides like Cumin potatoes and Athenian cabbage
- Dessert: Honey cheesecake with poached figs and walnuts
- Finale: Historical cheese plate

16th September - Mediterranean Cheese Soirée
Enjoy the sun drenched flavours of the Mediterranean as we take a trip through Spain, Italy and Corsica. As well as much loved classics like Burrata and Manchego, discover some truly unique cheeses. Paired with regional wines from the countries, we’ll squeeze out the last drops of summer with this dinner.

- A special menu of dishes such as Croquettes, Jamón, Handmade pasta and Mountain style slow cooked lamb shoulder

Ring in the season with cosy Alpine charm. Picture twinkling lights, the scent of mulled wine and heart warming dishes reminiscent of Christmas markets.
