A Living Space: A Series Of Films By Kit Kemp
ham Yard Bar And Restaurant
Ham Yard Bar and Restaurant occupies a large, light and airy space on the ground floor of Ham Yard Hotel. The pewter-topped bar separates the bar area from the restaurant, which seats 102 on beautifully upholstered banquettes, with floor to ceiling doors opening up onto the hotel’s terrace with five oak trees and a bronze sculpture by Tony Cragg - a perfect spot for alfresco drinking and dining.
"The bar was the start of the inspiration for these two rooms. I bought a collection of West Indian black and white paintings and I thought they'd look really good against something quite rustic above the bar. We painted ordinary wooden boxes with abstract design in black and white, and its the black and white which actually is quite a strength and quite calm against the yellow willow weave walls."
