Discover the magic behind Christmas cinema at The Soho Hotel. We are hosting a special festive event with Fashion & Cinema to celebrate the 70th anniversary White Christmas. Enjoy mulled wine and a screening of this timeless movie introduced by film and theatre historian and curator Keith Lodwick.

In 1954, White Christmas captivated audiences upon its release with an enchanting blend of musicality and storytelling featuring vibrant dance sequences to powerful lyrics and music by Irving Berlin. The film brought together some of the most beloved and talented performers of the time, including Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney, and has now become a classic of Christmas cinema.

The dazzling costumes of White Christmas were designed by the legendary Edith Head, whose bold use of colour, sparkle, and intricate details epitomise 1950s fashion. Before the screening, Keith Lodwick will discuss how Head's distinct style defined films of the era and added a touch of old Hollywood glamour to the festive genre.

After the event, head upstairs to The Soho Hotel's lively bar and restaurant, Refuel for dinner or a drink. Featuring a varied menu of modern seasonal specials alongside traditional Christmas dishes, it's the perfect spot to celebrate the season with friends.

KEITH LODWICK is a curator, writer, and historian. He is the former Curator of Theatre and Screen Arts at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
