Join award winning journalist, broadcaster and author Emma Barnett as she discusses the realities of life on maternity leave with journalist and author Kate Maxwell.
Maternity Service captures the truth of maternity leave – or ‘maternity service’, as it could more aptly be called – in real time. It celebrates and acknowledges the vast amount of work required throughout this period, with its soaring highs and challenging lows, and the impact it has on women’s sense of identity and purpose.
Emma Barnett has been named Interviewer of the Year at the British Journalism awards, she is a presenter on BBC Radio 4's flagship Today Programme and hosts interviews and documentaries across the BBC. Emma has written for newspapers including The Sunday Times and The Daily Telegraph and had her first book, Period. It's About Bloody Time published in 2019.
Enjoy a two-course dinner and a glass of wine before or after the event by adding a reservation at Oscar Restaurant to your ticket purchase.
